Hang Person Game

New and Improved Script! It now uses DHTML instead of images. Works better, therefore, with the newer browsers, while limping along with the old Netscape® 4.x browsers.

Don't scoff when contemplating the apparent simplicity of this old game. Maybe there ain't a Vanna White turning the letters, but who can quarrel with the jeopardy into which this version may put your own ego.

As ever exceedingly politically correct, we would not deign to designate this game as "Hangman", a name venerated and traditional for centuries before we all became enlightened.

And graphically-challenged though we may be, none-the-less our stick figure is quite certainly non-gender-specific. Picaso-like, perhaps, but no give-away appendages to offend anyone. Indeed, we challenge one and all to craft a more multiculturally diverse representation than this! <g>

You can, of course, substitute your own words for those loaded in this thousand-word database (cobbled together from a public domain dictionary)

Teachers, in particular, might see this game as a useful method for teaching students technical terms for a specific discipline. We've made it easy to substitute your own word list in the script, if desired.
