This is an on-screen "invisible" scroller not using a form element. Scrollers displayed within form elements on screen will always suffer from the irritating "jumpiness" that occurs as the letters are printed to screen. This is an on-screen scroller that scrolls across the screen with no apparent frame. The size can be adjusted very simply if you want it larger or smaller, by changing the HEIGHT and WIDTH calls for the initial paint to screen. The monospace font selected will support scaling within reasonable parameters. If your background color is something other than white, simply create an appropriate .gif to replace the 90.gif used here.
